El Morro, Viejo San Juan

On our last night in San Juan we decided to take a walk from the Paseo de la Princesa, along the Paseo del Morro and ending up at Castillo San Felipe del Morro. The night was full of your typical Viejo San Juan post-card views and people sailing by in their little boats. We even witnessed a couple getting married near the Paseo de la Princesa but I suspect it happens quite frequently.

As you can see from a couple of photos above, there are a few cats here – a little “cat sanctuary” along the pathway. Save a Gato provides them with food, water and of course spaying and neutering. They are incredibly calm, relaxed and amiable to photo taking.

We were a little rushed trying to beat the sunset but no doubt we’ll have a second chance to soak it all in again soon.
